The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday indicated that her administration promotes investment in public works, along with the private sector, as well as Peru's inclusive and human development.

In this sense, the Head of State pointed out that investments in infrastructure currently underway in Peru exceed US$25 billion.

Mrs. Boluarte participated in the inauguration of Salaverry Multipurpose Port Terminal's new infrastructure in northern La Libertad region.

Within this framework, the President pointed out that her administration seeks to strengthen decentralization, as well as "the economic and social integration of all Peruvians."

It is part of an "unfulfilled" political agenda, she said.

The top official announced that she will also launch the "Con Punche Regional" crusade in this area of the country today to help the segment that has few resources and was affected by recent rains and floods.

On the matter, the President stated that Peru is currently experiencing "a double challenge," consisting of responding to the ravages of rains and floods and, at the same time, boosting the economic revival.

"We will spare no effort to help our affected brothers," Mrs. Boluarte said.

"We will continue to do so because it is the duty of the (Peruvian) State to protect its citizens even more in difficult circumstances," she added.

Reactivation and investments

The second aspect is being boosted thanks to the transfer of resources to the most vulnerable families, as well as the important investments in collaboration with the private sector —such as the Salaverry Multipurpose Port Terminal.

This work represents an investment worth over US$270 million, Mrs. Boluarte said.

Its implementation will increase the operational capacity of the aforementioned port so as to expedite loading and unloading tasks, favoring the economy of 5.5 million people in La Libertad, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, and Ancash regions, she specified.

The implementation of this infrastructure is added to other works in progress, which will also boost development, such as the Chancay Port terminal, the Southern Dock expansion, and the Red Vial 4 (Road Network 4).

The inauguration of Salaverry Port expansion "means that Peru is on the move and that, despite the difficulties and ravages of nature, Peruvians know how to face our challenges, and we can get ahead," she expressed.
