The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday affirmed that education is a priority for her administration.

Remarks were made during the inauguration of a new facility at 14065 Educational Institution in La Union district, Piura province, northern Peru.

"For us, education is a priority; we bet on it, because it is not only the future but also a right for children and adolescents to attend schools like these that we have inaugurated," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.

"Yesterday, four (schools were inaugurated) in Lima and there are seven (schools in Piura) today; we will continue to inaugurate more of them in the days to come," she added.

The Head of State explained that the new educational infrastructure entailed an investment worth S/33 million (about US$8.70 million). It will benefit more than 385 students.

Efforts

Later, President Boluarte participated in the inauguration of 14064 Educational Institution's infrastructure, also in La Union district.

Within this framework, the top official said that those schools are part of the joint effort undertaken by the Executive Branch and subnational governments.

The Head of State indicated that this school will allow children and adolescents to have a better learning experience, thanks to an investment of S/27.60 million (about US$7.82 million). It will benefit more than 200 students.

"The children now have a modern school with nine fully-equipped classrooms and diverse spaces that will contribute to their academic learning," she added.
