Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday affirmed that the economic reactivation will be achieved through the creation of jobs at the national level, for which coordination between national, regional, and municipal governments is essential.

"The economic reactivation will be achieved through the generation of jobs at the national level, and this is highly important. However, it requires a joint effort initiated by the Central Government, as well as supported by regional and municipal governments," he explained.

"If we do not work together, we will not be able to spend our budget, and works will be incomplete by December, for sure. That is the worst scenario, because unfinished works cannot provide services to the population or generate jobs," he added.

The Head of State highlighted the State's great effort to reactivate the economy through the launch of the Arranca Peru (Get off the Ground, Peru) Program, which includes basic sanitation works and neighborhood road maintenance.

"The provincial municipalities throughout Peru have the budget and have started the procedures, many of them have even hired personnel and works are beginning now, in October," he stated.

"I call on mayors and regional governors to do their best —and I know they do— so that we can meet the budgetary goals in the remaining three months of the year," the statesman added.

Remarks were made on Wednesday morning during the establishment of the National Mental Health Council (CONASAME) and the enactment of a law on textbooks. The ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
