The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Monday affirmed that digital tablets will reach the most remote places in the country ahead of the return to school classes, within the framework of the "Closure of the digital gap" strategy led by the Ministry of Education.

The Head of State called for speeding up the process so that this digital tool is ready to use and its prompt distribution can begin in order to reach students.

"Today I am pleased to know that we have a technological tool. In the past, we took to the streets in search of tablets for children and computers for teachers. Today we are taking the first step; we are not going to give up in the constant fight for education," he expressed.

In this regard, he urged parents of schoolchildren who will receive the digital tablets to take care of these devices, as they are useful for children, strengthen their education, while allowing them to access other content and promote the culture of each town, as well as its language and idiosyncrasy.

During the activity, the dignitary announced that three companies have offered to bring Internet access throughout the country, including the most remote communities.

Moreover, he called on teachers, parents, regional governors, mayors, and the whole community to go on a responsible crusade for the restart of school classes.

"These technological tools will reach the furthest corner of the country and the most remote schools. In addition, food will reach children through the Qali Warma program," the President added.

Mr. Castillo's remarks were delivered after his participation in an activity held in Lima's Lurin district, where he supervised the functioning of school tablets that will be used for the return to school classes in March.
