The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday participated in the ceremony marking the arrival of the Peruvian Navy Ship (BAP) Carrasco, after it completed the 29th Scientific Expedition of Peru to Antarctica (ANTAR XXIX)

The activity took place at the Antedique Dock of the Callao Naval Base.

The ANTAR XXIX expedition lasted 70 days. During this period, the BAP Carrasco carried out an oceanographic cruise and works at the Machu Picchu Antarctic Scientific Base (ECAMP).

Thus, it conducted research projects, including studies in marine, biological, and climatic areas of significant interest to the country.

The BAP Carrasco is a floating laboratory outfitted with the most modern scientific and hydrographic equipment, as well as top-level laboratories, a condition that has promoted Peru's participation in international and national cooperation projects within the framework of the Antarctic Treaty and scientific works in the maritime areas of interest.
