Peru's President attends award ceremony honoring police agents

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday afternoon took part in an award ceremony in recognition for different praiseworthy actions carried out by brave agents from the Peruvian National Police (PNP).

During the ceremony, the Head of State awarded the National Police Order of Merit to three lieutenants and 15 non-commissioned officers for their outstanding work in recent operations in favor of national security.

The dignitary congratulated the decorated police personnel and expressed her hopes that they would hold this recognition with honor.

The decorated agents participated in the resolution of cases such as the kidnapping of a businesswoman in Lima's Los Olivos district and the fall of criminal Christopher Fuentes, alias "Maldito (Damned) Cris."

The event also included the participation of Interior Minister Vicente Romero and National Police Commander General Jorge Angulo.

The ceremony took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital Lima.
