The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday arrived in the United States to participate at the inaugural Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) Leaders' Summit, which will bring together 12 heads of state.

Upon arrival in the U.S. capital, the Head of State was received by U.S. Department of State officials, the Presidency of the Republic said via X (formerly known as Twitter).

APEP is made up of the United States, Barbados, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Uruguay, which together represent 31.9% of the global gross domestic product (GDP).

According to the legislative resolution authorizing her trip, President Boluarte is expected to attend the inaugural Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) Leaders' Summit organized by the Government of the United States.

Likewise, the dignitary will take part in the Americas Partnership-IDB Responsible Investment Forum and in meetings with representatives of the U.S. Congress, Department of the Treasury, and Chamber of Commerce, among others.

The central issues to be discussed at the Inaugural APEP Leaders' Summit include economic stability, trade and inclusive investment.

The Peruvian Government will take advantage of the APEP Leaders' Summit to consolidate the bilateral relationship with the United States, promote the country in the region, and strengthen Peru's image as an investment destination, mainly in sustainable infrastructure.

The APEP initiative is an opportunity to promote a new economic consensus that allows for resilient supply chains, in addition to encouraging fair competition, closing gaps in sustainable infrastructure, and addressing the main international challenges, such as climate change.

During her trip, the Peruvian President will remain in charge of the Presidential Office using digital technologies, which adopt digital security mechanisms and ensure the security of the means to be used.
