The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday affirmed that 2022 must be a year to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, revive the country, and strengthen governance.

"2022 must be a year when we all come together to contain the pandemic, speed up economic recovery, as well as strengthen institutionality and governance," he said.

In addition, the Head of State emphasized that any attempt to destabilize democracy will be stopped.

Moreover, the President said he expects an economic growth of 13% by the end of this year, one of the highest in Latin America, and noted that the Armed Forces' institutionality is fully guaranteed.

He also affirmed that 2021 has been a year in which Peruvians democratically expressed their will at the polls to decide their future, thus resolving that we have to fight poverty, inequality, and corruption.

In the same way, he referred to the changes in the agenda that the Government has been promoting, which seeks to promote dialogue with all sectors of the country, in political and social spheres.

Furthermore, the President announced the start of public investment projects Kuntur and Sipan, which are financed with debt operations approved for more than S/78 million (about US$19.2 million).
