"This good news is added to the efforts undertaken by Mincetur to promote inbound and domestic tourism in the country. The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism supported the nomination of these villages. Receiving this recognition is a reason for pride for all Peruvians," he remarked.
The villages of Chacas, Chavin de Huantar, Paucartambo, Pozuzo, and Taquile were included in the list after being strictly evaluated under nine key areas:

- Promotion and Conservation of Cultural Resources
- Economic Sustainability
- Social Sustainability
- Environmental Sustainability
- Tourism Development and Value Chain Integration
- Governance and Prioritization of Tourism
- Infrastructure and Connectivity
- Health, Safety, and Security

Pozuzo
This destination is known for being the first Austro-German colony in Peru, where the balance of the colonists' legacy, nature, communities, and biodiversity is maintained.
The place stands out for its charming and beautiful natural attractions, multicultural heritage, delicious gastronomy, and hospitable population.
Taquile
Taquile, an island on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca, is noted for its textile art and cultural value. In this village, men and women maintain their ancient customs and traditions alive.
Paucartambo
This village is known for its particular cultural syncretism between the Andean and Hispanic worlds, which is represented in its dances and beliefs witnessed during the traditional festivity of the Virgen del Carmen de Paucartambo celebrated in July.
Chacas
Recognized for its extraordinary people, Chacas stands out for its history, nature, and handicraft tradition, which maintain its customs alive.
Chavin de Huantar
This district, located in the highlands of Ancash region, stands out due to its heritage and cultural value. This is the cradle of the Chavin Culture, one of the oldest ones in Peru.
