10:00 | Lima, Aug. 16.

Peruvian Prime Minister Walter Martos flies over various parts of the capital city, Lima, to verify the compliance with the mandatory social immobilization measure decreed by the Government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

During the overflight, the President of the Council of Ministers is accompanied by Defense Minister Jorge Chavez.

This is the first Sunday under the curfew after the quarantine was lifted in most regions across the country last July.

It must be noted that —during the mandatory social immobilization— strictly necessary personnel, who participate in the provision of food supply, health, financial and restaurant services for home delivery, will be exempted from the restriction to transit freely.

The measure will be in force all day long until 4:00 am on Monday.
