Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Wednesday assured that the safe return of students to face-to-face classes is one of the Government's priorities.

Therefore, the high-ranking official indicated that last Tuesday she held a multisectoral meeting with the ministers of Education, Development-Social Inclusion, Housing, Labor, and the deputy Health minister.

The purpose of the meeting was to continue articulating joint actions in favor of a safe return to schools.

Yesterday, Education Minister Rosendo Serna reported that his sector's goal is that educational institutions are duly prepared for the start of school classes by the first working day of March.

Before Congress' Education Commission, he said that an investment of S/295 million (about US$73 million) is being made through the maintenance program for the premises of educational institutions.

This amount is being transferred to serve more than 54,847 school premises.
