Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Wednesday affirmed that the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo will cooperate in the investigations into meetings held outside the Government Palace facilities.

"The President is absolutely willing to provide a list of people with whom he met on a personal level, and not as part of an official act," the Cabinet chief said at a press conference.

"He has reiterated this; no State-related matter was discussed, and the list will be provided for the sake of transparency," she added.

Vasquez also announced that the Executive Branch would relaunch the Integrity Office of the Presidency of the Republic to exercise greater control for the sake of transparency in government management.

The high-ranking official mentioned that although the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has stated that there is still no evidence of something illegal in the aforementioned meetings, it is important to improve transparency mechanisms in the face of concerns expressed by citizens.

Thus, following a recommendation from the Comptroller's Office, the Government has decided to take some actions to give an account of its performance in office and avoid speculation.

For example, she said, the Government has decided to relaunch the Integrity Office of the Presidency of the Republic, which has not been operational since July.

Said office is a mechanism to ensure transparency and greater control over government officials, especially at the offices of the Presidency of the Republic.

According to the Prime Minister, the audiences will be held at the Government Palace and not outside its facilities, like in the house located in Lima's Breña district or other premises.
