Peru's PM leads launching ceremony for patrol vessels at shipyard in Chimbote

Peru's Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano on Sunday led the launching ceremony for patrol vessels BAP Rio Tumbes and BAP Rio Locumba at the State-run Navy Industrial Services (SIMA) shipyard in the city of Chimbote (Ancash region).

During the event, the President of the Council of Ministers was joined by Defense Minister Walter Martos and Peruvian Navy General Commander Fernando Cerdan.

The naval units are part of the support for the operations carried out by port authorities.

They thus guarantee the defense of national interests and the improvement of safety and well-being of the population.
