Peru's PM kicks off working visit to Spain, meets with Spanish Foreign Affairs Minister

Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola has begun an intense day of work in Spain, meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Jose Manuel Albares.

During the meeting, which also included Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi, the bilateral union of both countries was strengthened.

Thus, the Spanish government reiterated its institutional and constitutional support for President Dina Boluarte Zegarra

In addition, the commitment to prioritize Spanish investments in Peru was renewed.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Otarola thanked Spain for its valuable support for Peru's bid to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The Spanish Foreign Minister said that his government hopes President Boluarte will participate at the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) to be held in Belgium.


Likewise, the Cabinet chief will hold meetings with the Spanish Senate Speaker and the President of the Congress of Deputies of Spain, as well as the Ibero-American Secretary-General, the Board of Trustees of the Spain-Peru Council Foundation (FCEP), and the Director of the Cervantes Institute, among others.

Afterwards, he will head to Paris, France to participate at the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting to be held on June 7 and 8 this year.
