on Thursday affirmed the Government will continue to prioritize dialogue with the population in regions in order to put the execution of projects into practice.
From Ica, where the government official leads a meeting with authorities from said region to promote governability and peace, he indicated that
President Dina Boluarte has commissioned the Cabinet to prioritize these types of meetings for said purpose.
In this sense, the high-ranking official called on Ica authorities present at the event to continue prioritizing dialogue with the population and process their discrepancies.
Likewise, the
Cabinet chief called on them to unite with the Government "in a permanent alliance, strengthened in favor of Ica's progress" and
to join efforts with the mere objective of reinvigorating and prioritizing the development of said region.
Furthermore, the
Prime Minister affirmed that the
Executive Branch understands the population's needs, especially of the most vulnerable sectors of Ica since their right to free transit has been affected and
they have suffered major economic damage as a result of the latest protests.
"We have gone through moments that I hope will enable us to reflect not only on ourselves, but also on those who have legitimately sought to exercise their right to protest," Otarola expressed.
“We have understood the message of peaceful protests, but what we will never understand is the message of violent protests," he added.
