13:36 | Lima, Jan. 26.

Peruvian Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Wednesday led a new session of the Council of Ministers, which was held virtually.

The Presidency of the Council of Ministers reported that Vasquez chaired the meeting given that the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo is participating in the 16th Pacific Alliance Summit in Colombia.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Cabinet chief reported that she had suspended her in-person activities after undergoing a molecular test that confirmed she had contracted COVID-19.

"I have mild symptoms thanks to the (3) vaccines. Accordingly, my face-to-face activities have been suspended, but my work has continued in a remote manner since the antigen test conducted yesterday," Vasquez wrote on Twitter.

"Thanks for the well wishes! Get vaccinated!" she added.
