Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola on Monday called on the three branches of State and all institutions to come together under the Un solo Punche initiative, in the face of the emergency that the country is experiencing due to heavy rains.
The head of the Ministerial Cabinet gave these statements during his visit to Chosica, where he supervised prevention works in the river basins.
Otarola reported that different functions are being distributed among State ministers to respond to the emergency both in Lima and across the regions.
"The Government, municipalities, and authorities are prepared and ready to deal with the emergency focusing on a word that is key right now: coordination," the high-ranking official said.
"And that is what we are doing at the national level. We have made ourselves available to all authorities in order to primarily meet their needs," he added.
