Following the violent events recently occurred between fans of Alianza Lima (AL) and Universitario de Deportes (U) teams, the Government has come to an agreement with the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF), the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), and clubs, so as to restrict access to stadiums in which both teams will play in the coming days.

Prime Minister Alberto Otarola made the announcement after a meeting he held with representatives of professional clubs and other authorities.

Likewise, he disclosed the launch of the "Values Campaign," which will use social media platforms in order to combat the hate speech.

"A decision has been taken not to allow spectators in the North and South grandstands —where fans of the above-mentioned teams sit usually on— on March 1, during the U-Sport Huancayo match, and on February 25, during the Alianza-Comerciantes Unidos game," the Cabinet chief explained.

"This is intended to raise awareness among fans of the teams gathering the most supporters, that is, Alianza Lima and Universitario de Deportes," he said.

"We all must assume responsibility for these events. The fact that two children have been wounded by gunshot makes us to take these decisions," Otarola indicated.

The Prime Minister reported that one of the affected minors was admitted in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Hipolito Unanue Hospital in Lima.

"Unfortunately, his condition is unstable," the high-ranking official remarked.

According to the head of the Ministerial Cabinet, the bullet passed through the thorax and injured his lung and liver.

The other injured child was also admitted to the hospital's pediatric ICU after going through surgery.

"His vital signs are stable," he noted.
