on Wednesday indicated that the projected budget for fiscal year 2024 contains central objectives that reflect the Government's commitment to economic stability, equity, and progress for all citizens.
At the event, he specified that the main interventions in 2024 will be carried out in the following areas: water-sanitation, order-security, education, health, social protection, and emergency response.
Thus, he said that concrete actions and interventions are planned such as:
- Boost to health.
- Frontal fight against crime.
- Improvement in higher education.
- Greater coverage by social programs.
- Poverty reduction.
- Increased access to water and sanitation.
- Expansion of connectivity throughout Peruvian territory.
- Investment in early childhood.
- Articulated and effective response to natural disasters.
- Promoting growth and sustainability of macroeconomic figures.
- Better provision of services at the local level.
- Boost to the countryside and national agriculture.
Otarola stressed that the allocation of resources for 2024 is the highest in the last 12 years, which will guarantee the reactivation of stalled public works, "with the aim of reducing the risks of loss and damage to life, health, public infrastructure, and livelihoods of the population."
He indicated that said proposal will enable the Executive Branch to continue working for the recovery and relaunch of our economy, in addition to strengthening "the fundamental pillars of our economic model that corresponds to the social market economy."
Lastly, the Cabinet chief pointed out that, in order to meet the proposed objectives, it is important to rely on the support from Parliament, which will contribute to building a more prosperous, equitable, and resilient Peru.
