Peru’s plastic products manufacturers have invested more than 400 million dollars in the past two years in order to expand their production capacity, the Peruvian Plastic Industry Association (Apiplast) said on Tuesday.
The president of Apiplast, Eduardo Farah, noted that the domestic demand improved this production growth within different areas such as construction, office articles and household products.
The plastic industry records the highest investments within the manufacturer’s industry sector.
Apiplast is formed by the companies Envases Industriales, Viplastic Perú, Artesco, Plastindustria, Pisopak Perú, Koplast Industrial, Nicoll Perú and San Miguel Industrial Pet, representing 70 percent of total production.
Farah stated it doesn’t matter which candidate win the runoff elections in Peru, the most important is that the winner should develop an industrial policy work.
