Over 20 coffee varieties are tasted and praised at Expo Cafe Villa Rica running on August 24-27 at Lima's Municipal Theater square.

Most of those beans were recognized at the 3rd International Contest of Coffees Roasted in their Countries of Origin AVPA held in Paris last month.

On the occasion of Peruvian Coffee Day —celebrated every fourth Friday of August— certified baristas guide visitors to properly grind, roast and prepare said fine beans while using different types of coffee machines.

Derivatives such as coffee liqueur, coffee spread, coffee desert and coffee bread are also showcased at the event.

This year's edition features traditional dances and other activities.

Villa Rica Coffee

90% of Villa Rica district-based families harvest this coffee bean without any pesticides under social responsibility guidelines and the best growing practices.

Thus, Villa Rica coffee is ecologically cultivated in the Biosphere Reserve of Oxapampa-Ashaninka-Yanesha (Pasco region).

It must be noted 90% of said coffee is exported to Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United States given its outstanding flavor and diverse aromas.
