Peruvian racer Manfred Oettl Reyes achieved a 70th place on Wednesday in his debut at 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi in the Alpine skiing giant slalom competition.
Oettl finished with a cumulative time of 3 minutes 20.26 seconds coming close at just over 35.67 seconds of the winner the American Ted Ligety who crowned his outstanding performance with the Olympic gold medal.

The Olympics that are held on Russian territory have not finished Manfred. Its foray Saturday also is pending in alpine skiing, but great slalom mode.

Leading after the first run, Ligety sped down the Rosa Khutor course in a two-leg combined time of 2 minutes, 45.29 seconds.

Steve Missillier of France stood only 10th after the first run but had the fastest second leg to finish second, 0.48 behind. Alexis Pinturault, another Frenchman and one of Ligety's chief rivals over the past few seasons, was third, 0.64 behind.
