Peru's Health Min: 2 million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered

Peruvian Health Minister Oscar Ugarte on Saturday affirmed that a total of 2 million vaccine doses against COVID-19 have so far been administered nationwide.

According to the Cabinet member, more than 194,000 senior citizens are expected to get vaccinated in Lima and Callao thru May 10.

It must be noted that over 50 vaccination centers have been enabled in Metropolitan Lima and Callao starting today.

Besides, more than 900 brigades have been deployed to provide care for the elderly population.

Remarks were made while supervising the vaccination of adults over 70 years of age in Lima.

The Ministry of Health reminded citizens to attend vaccination centers on the set day and time to avoid crowds, adding that information concerning dates can be found by logging on to the
 Pongo el Hombro (I Lend a Shoulder) official website.

People over 80 years of age, who have not received their first dose, can attend vaccination centers closest to their homes between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. (local time).
