Peru: Head of State expresses commitment to democracy at meeting with U.S. President

The President of the Republic of Peru, Pedro Castillo, conveyed to his counterpart of the United States, Joe Biden, the commitment of his administration to respect democracy.

After returning to Lima from Los Angeles following his participation in the IX Summit of the Americas, the Peruvian Head of State referred on Twitter to his meeting with the Chief of U.S. Government.

"I conveyed to President Joe Biden the needs and development possibilities that Peru has," Mr. Castillo expressed on Saturday evening.

Likewise, the Head of State indicated that he had expressed before his counterpart the Peruvian Government's commitment to respect democracy and fight against corruption.

Within this framework, Mr. Castillo said he was convinced that dialogue is essential to achieve the country's objectives.
