Led by President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, the Great Military Parade took place on Friday in Lima marking Peru’s Independence Anniversary celebrations.
The three-and-a-half-hour traditional event gathered detachments representing the country's military institutions and National Police.
Likewise, several state ministers, congress members, high-ranking military officers, religious authorities, diplomats and First Lady Nancy Lange attended the said ceremony.
Thousands of Peruvian citizens stood across Lima's Brazil Avenue to get a great view of the spectacle.
One of the highlights was the appearance of an Army tank of Czech origin used by Peru during the war against Ecuador in 1941.
It must be noted foreign military delegations have taken part in this patriotic event, including groups from Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, among other countries.
The parade pays tribute to Peruvian Armed Forces for its contribution to the country, and at the same time, is an opportunity to inspire patriotism and love for the country.
