Peru's Grande takes 3rd place in World Karate Federation ranking

Peruvian karateka Alexandra Grande moved to third place in the World Karate Federation (WKF) ranking, according to the latest update on the classification.

Grande has secured the third spot in the Female Kumite -61 kg category with 4077.50 points. 

Likewise, the national sportswoman holds the sixth spot in the WKF Tokyo 2020 Standings

The 28-year-old won gold at Karate1 Premier League - Berlin 2018 —one of the world's most important championships — in the aforementioned category. 

At said competition, Grande beat 3-1 France's Leila Heurtault in the finals. 

The karateka expressed her satisfaction on social media next to her family and coach. 

The Peruvian is heading to Madrid (Spain) to participate in the 24th Karate World Championship, continuing her quest and pursuit for points to qualify to Lima 2019 and Tokyo 2019.

"(…) The only thing I know right now is that my most important goal this year is November's World Championship," she told elpoli.pe 

"Let's see how I finish 2018. I might keep going up or I could even go down. I have a hard road ahead (…)," Grande added.
