Peruvian artist Gian Marco won a Latin Grammy on Thursday, in the Best Singer-Songwriter category, for his album ’20 años’.

Gian Marco previously won the award in 2005 for his album ‘Resucitar’, and in 2011 for his album ‘Dias Nuevos’.

"I love you Peru, this award is for all the people of my country who are in my heart, thank you for your love, for supporting me and for loving me,” Gian Marco said, according to Peruthisweek.com.

“This has been a busy year for me, I celebrated my 20-year career and the Grammy has special significance because it has fulfilled all the goals that my team and I have set.”

The Peruvian singer had also been nominated for Song of the Year, for his track ‘Invisible’, a collaboration with Amaury Gutierrez, but lost out to Jesse & Joy for their song ‘Corre’.

Other Peruvian nominees at the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards included Bareto, Eva Ayllón, and Pamela Rodriguez.
