Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa, as well as Vice-President of the Republic Dina Boluarte and Deputy Foreign Trade Minister Miguel Palomino, began their participation in the APEC Economic Leaders' Week (AELW) from November 17 to 19.
During the first session of the event, the Cabinet member emphasized that the primary goal of Peru's economic growth and sustainable development is well-being through the eradication of poverty and the creation of greater opportunities for all, especially for the most vulnerable.
Within this framework, the high-ranking official said that APEC can make an important contribution through the economic and technical cooperation it provides for the strengthening of institutional capacities in areas such as sustainable resource management, food security, green industries, as well as the transition and use of renewable energies, among others.
In this regard, he noted that it promotes a sustainable production model through the efficient use of resources, in close collaboration with civil society and the private sector.
The BCG is a post-pandemic growth strategy that integrates the following production models focused on sustainability: The Bio-economy, the Circular Economy, and the Green Economy.
During the second session of the meeting, Minister Landa highlighted the crucial role that connectivity plays for the quality growth of APEC economies by facilitating improvement in productivity of companies and workers, as well as the smooth flow of supply chains, especially for essentials such as health supplies.

Founded in November 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum is made up of 21 Asia-Pacific economies.
It seeks to promote trade and investment liberalization, facilitate business, as well as promote economic and technical cooperation in order to achieve prosperity among member economies.
