More than 26 million voters will participate in the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections (ERM) on Sunday, October 4.

Citizens will return to the polls to elect a total of 13,148 regional and municipal authorities, according to the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE).

Voters will cast their ballots to elect:

* 25 governors.
* 25 regional vice governors.
* 364 regional councilors.
* 196 provincial mayors.
* 1,696 district mayors.
* 1,724 provincial councilors.
* 9,118 district councilors.

ONPE specified that more than 26,314,000 citizens are eligible to vote in these elections, as they are included in the final electoral roll approved by the National Elections Board (JNE) and submitted by the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec). 

It also indicated that more than 10,000 polling stations will be set up across more than 1,000 districts and 2,000 population centers.

Likewise, 125 decentralized electoral process offices (ODPE) will be set up across the country to organize and conduct the election in their respective jurisdictions.
