Career diplomat Rolando Ruiz Rosas Cateriano presented his credentials to His Majesty Harald V, formally accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Kingdom of Norway.

Following the ceremony, the Peruvian diplomat met with the Norwegian monarch, conveying greetings from the Government of Peru.

During the meeting, the ambassador reaffirmed the willingness to further strengthen the bilateral agenda, encompassing cooperation and sustainable development, investment and trade, as well as cultural and tourism promotion.

In this regard, he highlighted Norway's high Human Development Index as a model and point of reference for other societies.

Likewise, they agreed with the Norwegian Head of State on shared values in the multilateral sphere, as well as on common initiatives promoted through various international organizations and instruments, and on addressing the challenges posed by the current context.

On this point, Ambassador Ruiz Rosas recalled the distinguished nationals who served as Secretaries-General of the United Nations—Norwegian Trygve Lie and Peruvian Javier Perez de Cuellar.

Their tenures were instrumental in shaping the organization in its early years and in guiding the peaceful transition at the end of the Cold War, while advancing a commitment to sustainable and inclusive development.

His Majesty Harald V extended a warm welcome to the ambassador and wished him success in his mission.

He also shared fond memories of the private visit he paid to Peru a decade ago, noting the strong impression made by its emblematic sites and geographic diversity.

The ceremony was held at the Royal Palace of Oslo on February 12.
