Peru: VP to represent Head of State in Costa Rica presidential swearing-in ceremony

First Vice-President Dina Boluarte will represent the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, at the presidential swearing-in ceremony in Costa Rica.

According to a supreme resolution, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Saturday, Boluarte will travel to the city of San Juan from May 7 to 9.

The presidential swearing-in ceremony will take place in Costa Rica between Saturday and Sunday. At this event, President-Elect Rodrigo Chaves will take up duties.

The regulation specifies that it is in the interest of the Peruvian Government to strengthen the bilateral relationship with the Republic of Costa Rica, through constant political dialogue and the promotion of fluid trade.

In another supreme resolution, the Development and Social Inclusion Ministry is entrusted to Diana Miloslavich, Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations, as of May 7, 2022, and as long as the Vice-President is overseas.
