The Vice-President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday saluted Brazilian presidential candidate and two-time former Head of State Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva over his victory in Sunday's runoff election.

"I congratulate the victory of our brother Lula and the beloved Brazilian people over the new path of hope and democracy that Brazil will undertake," the also-Development and Social Inclusion minister expressed on Twitter.

"Peruvians and Brazilians, let us work on an agenda of unity for the future of the Amazonia and for a world of peace," she pointed out.

Lula da Silva

The 77-year-old Workers' Party (PT) leader had already governed the South American Giant between 2003 and 2010.

Lula —as he is commonly known— will once again become Brazil's President as of January 1, 2023, for the following 4 years.
