Peru will face the Dominican Republic tonight within the framework of the 16th Women's Volleyball Pan American Cup currently underway in Lima.

Peru has seen three victories and one loss. The Inca team beat Chile (3-0), Cuba (3-0) and Trinidad and Tobago (3-1).

However, it was defeated by Canada last Tuesday in a tight game (25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 17-25 and 16-18).

In spite of the negative result, Peruvians have already qualified for the competition's quarter-finals.

Nevertheless, national athletes may qualify for the semi-finals if they manage to defeat the Dominican Republic without losing any set.

Participating countries in the tournament are: Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States and Venezuela.

The event will run thru June 25th, 2017.
