Peruvian traditional exports amounted to US$3.683 billion in June 2021, a 24.6% increase over the same month in 2019 and 77.5% in comparison to June 2020, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Saturday.

This growth was mainly explained by higher prices.

In this sense, traditional exports in June have exceeded the figures registered before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Foreign sales of traditional products reached US$20.520 billion in the first six months of this year, up 25.6% compared to the same period in 2019 —as a result of higher prices of metals, as well as crude oil and byproducts.

In June 2021, mining exports maintained the positive growth of previous months, increasing 33.4% in comparison to June 2019 and 75.2% over the same month last year.
