Peru has moved up into fourth place in the medal table at the 17th Bolivarian Games, after winning 15 gold medals and 60 medals overall through the third day of competition.
Water skier Delfina Cuglievan earned 3 gold medals for Peru in the categories of women's jump and slalom, while her sister, Natalia Cuglievan, took the gold in women's trick category.
The fifth gold medalist was the rider Jorge Hurtado Diaz who absolutely crushed the bodyboarding competition at Punta Rocas beach.
Likewise, the swimmer Mauricio Fiol took the top spot on the podium at the Mansiche Olympic pool and received the gold medal for his victory in the 200 metre free style competition.
Furthermore, Peru lifted the mixed badminton team's title at the 2013 Bolivarian Games by beating Guatemala 3 matches to none at Miguel Grau Coliseum in the Callao region.
Judoka Juan Postizo was rewarded with the gold medal in the men's 60-kilogram category finals. In addition, Peru drawn triumphs in the Wushu tourney by bagging three more medals with Yuri Flores (52-kg), Michael Herrera (56-kg) and Marco Quintanilla (70-kg).
The Peruvian delegation has earned 15 silver and 29 bronze. Colombia tops the medal table with 119 presences in the podium (58 gold, 40 silver and 21 bronze). Venezuela and Ecuador completed the top-3 with 141 medals (50+51+40) and 76 medals (23+24+29), respectively.
Peru hosts this major sporting event with the attendance of around 2,000 athletes from 11 countries. It runs through Nov. 30, 2013.
