FocusEconomics analysts revised up their 2021, 2022 and 2023 growth projection for Peru. Thus, the country will grow more than the Latin American average during said period.
Peru's GDP will expand 8.7% next year, 4.5% in 2022 and 4% in 2023, while the Latin American economies will grow on average 4.1% in 2021, 2.9% in 2022 and 2.8% in 2023.
In the July report, analysts estimated that
Peru's economic growth was going to reach 7.9% in 2021, 4.1% in 2022 and 3.8% in 2023.
In addition, Peru will lead the economic growth in the region next year and in 2022, according to the latest FocusEconomics' LatinFocus Consensus Forecast report.
2021-2023 period
Peru will record the highest GDP growth in Latin America next year (8.7%), followed by Argentina and Chile, with 5.2% and 4.9%, respectively.
Mexico would come next (3.4%), followed by Brazil (3.7%), Paraguay (4.4%), Bolivia (4.2%), Colombia (4.2%), Uruguay (4.1%) and Ecuador (3.8%).
Peru will also lead the way in 2022 with 4.5%, followed by Paraguay and Chile, with 3.9% and 3.6%, respectively.
Next in line comes Colombia (3.5%), followed by Bolivia (3.4%), Uruguay (2.8%), Brazil (2.6%), Ecuador (2.6%), Argentina (2.5%) and Mexico (2.5%).
In 2023, Peru will record the second highest GDP growth in the region (4%) after Paraguay (4.1%), and will be followed by Chile (3.4%), Colombia (3.4%), Bolivia (3.3%), Brazil (2.6%), Uruguay (2.6%), Argentina (2.5%), Ecuador (2.4%) and Mexico ( 2.3%).
