Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) will boost
Amazonas region, Deputy Tourism Minister Liz Chirinos reaffirmed on Monday.
"We will coordinate with the Government's different levels through management tools that will enable the promotion and strengthening of the diverse tourist attractions Amazonas region has to offer," the official expressed.
Likewise, she urged local and regional authorities to join the great tourist project towards the country's Independence Bicentennial.
Likewise, tourism in Amazonas region has registered a significant expansion so far in 2018. Between January and September, visits to the Kuelap Fortress increased 14% over the same period in 2017.
Chirinos went on to add foreign tourist arrivals at the region's lodgings reached 417,000 last year, a 9% rise compared to 2016. Sightseers came mainly from Germany, the United States, France, and Spain.
