Besides, he is the author of major books like "The World Is Flat," "Hot, Flat, and Crowded," and his famed "Thank You for Being Late."
Globalization
Friedman is internationally known for being one of the columnists who best describe globalization, economic phenomena of this century, as well as the technology impact on international business and trade.
During one of his latest lectures, in Argentina, Friedman affirmed that "the faster the world gets, the more you need to step back and appreciate everything that's old and slow," and that the world is not changing but being reconfigured.
As for the future of work, he said: "Don't ever ask your children what they want to be when they grow up unless they want to be police officers or firefighters, because the jobs they'll mention will disappear in the future. Just ask them what they want to be like when they grow up."
"Learning throughout life nimbly is the most important competitive advantage. It's the new social agreement," he added.
