15:44 | Lima, Apr. 13.

Thousands of citizens on Thursday carried out a traditional tour that would take them to seven churches located in Lima's Historic Center on the occasion of Holy week.

This activity commemorates Jesus Christ's path to crucifixion starting with the Last Supper shared with Apostles towards his coming resurrection.

Within this framework, believers gathered at the capital's most ancient and representative religious buildings like Santo Domingo, Santa Rosa de Lima, San Sebastian, Las Nazarenas, La Merced, San Agustin and San Pedro churches.

At temples, faithful people recited Bible passages related to Christ's sacrifice, while expressing their pain and devotion to the Lord.

Other attendees took the opportunity to thank God for their good health and that of their loved ones.

The event aims at reviving and reinforcing Holy Week traditions.
