Prime Minister Luis Galarreta on Thursday presented the five axes of the 2026–2031 Government General Policy before the full Chamber of Deputies.

Learn about the axes presented by the Executive Branch.

The 2026–2031 Government General Policy is organized around five axes that reflect the priorities of this new stage:

- Reduce citizen insecurity, which threatens the lives, integrity, and economic activities of the population.

- Reduce the vulnerability of the population, ecosystems, and livelihoods to disasters and climate change.

- Strengthen the comprehensive development of people and their opportunities throughout the life course.

- Increase the country's productivity through formal employment and economic integration across the country.

- Consolidate democratic governance and the rule of law to strengthen institutions and manage conflicts.

According to the Cabinet chief, these axes include guidelines and actions to be developed, as well as other issues to be addressed by the Government over the next five years.

"These axes are based on the same conviction: the State must work for the people again. Security that people can feel. Services that reach people. Projects that are completed. Rules that allow investment and growth. And a Government that can explain what it has done, how much progress it has made, and what remains to be done," he stated.
