Peru's 30 million inhabitants are confident the national team will represent them competitively at Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) President Saul Barrera stated.
Such international sports event will take place in Brazil on September 7-18.
The squad is composed of: Israel Hilario (cycling), Efrain Sotacuro, Luis Sandoval, Jose Casas, Carlos Felipa and Yeni Vargas (athletics).
"[…] we are pretty sure they are going to represent us properly. With plenty of effort, they have won the right to participate in this sports event," Barrera affirmed.
"They are role models to Peruvians," he added.
"We have the largest Olympics delegation in Peruvian history. Five athletes are from athletics and one from cycling," National Paralympics Association of Peru (ANNPERU) President Luisa Villar highlighted.
It must be noted mission is led by Villar and coached by Miguel Calmet Ochoa.
Remarks were made during the farewell ceremony for athletes.
