Peru, Sweden strengthen cooperation and trade ties

Peru’s Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Eduardo Martinetti held a meeting with Sweden's State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Annika Söder and Director-General for Trade Ambassador Eva Walder in Stockholm.

During the gatherings, held on October 27, topics comprised in the bilateral agenda were reviewed. Likewise, the Peruvian government official exchanged views on the current international situation, as well as on matters linked to the multilateral relationship existing between both nations.

"These meetings have served to bring to the fore the excellent relationship existing between our countries, founded on shared values and interests," the Peruvian Foreign Affairs Ministry underlined.

Joint cooperation in the fields of science, technology, clean energies, disaster prevention and relief, education and health are expected to strengthen the ties uniting both nations.

Similarly, Deputy Minister Martinetti held a meeting with the Swedish Entrepreneurial Council at the Business Sweden organization headquarters. It saw the participation of nearly 40 enterprises and consortia interested in investment opportunities offered by Peru.

The gatherings were held within the framework of the visit Crown Princess Victoria and Infrastructure Minister Anna Johansson paid to Peru. A Swedish-Government Trade official is expected to visit the country next.
