Peruvian Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Mathews participated in a ceremony to mark the handover of the Pacific Alliance Pro Tempore Presidency from Peru to Chile, a platform that served to highlight the achievements made by Peru during the period it was in charge of said regional bloc.
As is known, since August 2023, the
Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has led several initiatives to promote economic and trade integration among the Pacific Alliance member countries, focusing especially on the development of
micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and their importance in employment generation.
"At a crucial moment for our region, it is essential to continue working together to boost sustainable development and promote greater economic integration," Juan Carlos Mathews stated.
"This implies further enhancing the consolidation of the Pacific Alliance as a platform of deep integration that encourages free movement of goods, services, capitals, and people," he added.
In this regard, the Mincetur's head highlighted the launch of the platform "AP Digital," an enterprise social network that will promote the internationalization of MSMEs linked to the foreign trade value chain within the bloc's member countries.
The web will allow users to access free-of-charge training content online, business support, financing, schedule of events in real time, to publish or request announcements regarding purchases and more.
Thus, companies will be given plenty of opportunities to expand their business in the region and to position their products.
"We acknowledged the importance of digital transformation for the future development of companies. Therefore, we are making efforts to implement a Regional Digital Market, addressing aspects such as Enterprise Cyber Security, Net Neutrality, and Intellectual Property in the digital ecosystem," the minister explained.
