The Peruvian U-17 women’s national team is already in Colombia competing in the 2025 South American U-17 Women’s Championship, a tournament that began in April 30 and will last till May 24 and will grant four spots for the World Cup in this category.
The team led by Fiorella Valverde is part of Group B along with Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Uruguay, and debuted last Thursday, May 1, against Brazil, one of the tournament’s favorite teams, losing by 2-0.
The U-17 ‘Bicolor’ arrived in Colombia last Monday, and on Tuesday, April 29, began its sports activities at the Ingenio Providencia Sports Complex, in the town of Palmire, near Cali.
During the first training session, the 22 called-up players carried out preventive and physical work with the coaching staff, and then performed technical-tactical drills under Valverde’s guidance.
The national team will seek a strong performance in the continental tournament with its sights set on qualifying for the U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Today the Peruvian U-17 women’s national team will play againt Ecuador at 4:30 p.m. (Lima time) at the Estadio Francisco Rivera Escobar, in Palmira, Colombia.
