Peru is rated as the second country in South America with best living conditions, according to a survey conducted by Newsweek, which reveals the Andean nation ranks 42nd in the world.
For this survey, in which Chile beats Peru by 12 points, specialists chose five categories of national well-being such as education, health, quality of life, economic dynamism, and political environment.
Newsweek indicates that 93 percent of Peruvian population is literate and that healthy life expectancy is of 67 years. In addition, the consumption per capita totals US$ 3,309.
In terms of violence, the survey records 3.3 percent of homicides per 100,000 inhabitants. While the political environment shows a 62 percent of stability.
Finland is the greatest of all, and then comes Switzerland, Sweden and Australia.
In the Latin American region, Chile came in 1st, followed by Costa Rica (35th overall), Panama (41st overall) and Peru (42nd overall).
