, who earlier today was crowned as the new monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as of its other kingdoms and territories.
Following the official ceremony held in London, the
Presidency of the Republic from Lima posted the message on its official social media channels.
"Peru greets (King) Charles III, crowned as the new monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as of its other kingdoms and territories," the Presidential Office stated.
"We express our best wishes for the beginning of his reign, for the benefit of the British population," it added.
King Charles III was crowned, along with his wife Queen Camilla, in a ceremony that
took place eight months after he had ascended the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The event was considered unique in Europe and that the United Kingdom had not experienced for 70 years.
At the sumptuous Westminster Abbey in central London, Canterbury Archbishop Justin Welby placed the St Edwards Crown on the head of the 74-year-old monarch.
