Purple Party Congressman Francisco Sagasti Hochhausler has been elected as the new head of Congress and will assume the Presidency of the Republic this week.
At a Parliament plenary session, Mirtha Vasquez was also chosen to become Vice Chairwoman, as were Luis Roel (Second Vice Chairman), and Matilde Fernandez (Third Vice Chairwoman).
The
list received 97 votes in favor, 26 against and, 0 abstentions.
Given that Francisco Sagasti will assume the Presidency of the Republic, Mirtha Vasquez will be the new incumbent in charge of leading Congress.
