The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PromPeru) reported on Tuesday that Peru is strengthening its international reputation and recording the largest increase in the pride its citizens feel in their country, according to the results of the RepCore® Nations 2026 study, conducted by Reputation Lab.

The results take on particular significance in the context of the national "Mas peruano que nunca" (More Peruvian Than Ever) campaign, launched by PromPeru through
Marca Peru (Peru Brand).

"The study reveals that Peru has risen to 25th among the world's 60 leading economies, advancing two positions from 2025, and remains the highest-rated Latin American country in the eyes of G7 public opinion," PromPeru Executive President Teresa Mera stated.

"With 53.2 points, 3.3 points above the average of the economies evaluated, Peru is also widening its lead over Chile (33rd), Mexico (41st), and Colombia (50th), consolidating its position as the country with the best reputation in the region," she added.

PromPeru explained that this performance is particularly significant in an international context of declining reputations: 43 of the 60 economies analyzed recorded a drop in their reputation, while Peru managed to gain 1.7 points between 2025 and 2026.

Likewise, Peru's domestic reputation reached 70.4 points, a level considered excellent.

Moreover, it recorded the largest increase among the countries analyzed, rising by 7.7 points.

This reflects a strengthening of citizens' emotional connection with their country, as expressed in higher levels of admiration, respect and trust.

The report states that Peru is consistently viewed favorably by both foreign audiences and Peruvians themselves, with highly valued attributes—including its natural environment, culture, cuisine and hospitality—that strengthen the emotional connection with the country.

These attributes help explain people's willingness to visit Peru, recommend it, and consume Peruvian products.

The results underscore the economic importance of a country's reputation.

Based on an analysis of four years of data, Reputation Lab estimates that a one-point improvement in a country's reputation score is associated, on average, with a 7.2% rise in tourist arrivals and a 1% increase in foreign direct investment (FDI), demonstrating its potential to boost tourism, exports, and attract capital.

In Peru's case, the improvement in its reputation among G7 public opinion was accompanied by an increase in favorable attitudes toward the country, particularly those related to visiting and recommending it.

Among the highest-rated attributes are its attractive natural environment, leisure offering, cultural and culinary options, and the perception of its people as friendly and welcoming.

Against this backdrop, PromPeru, through the Peru Brand, is promoting the national "More Peruvian Than Ever" campaign, reaffirming its commitment to continuing to strengthen national identity.

It is convinced that citizens who are proud of their country are Peru's best calling card to the world and help generate greater opportunities for tourism, exports, and business investment.

Under the slogan "El Amor por el Perú no tiene fronteras" (Love for Peru knows no borders) the digital campaign features inspiring stories of foreigners who fell in love with this country and became true ambassadors of Peruvian identity, as well as Peruvians who bring our culture, cuisine and heritage to every corner of the world.

The campaign can be followed through Marca Peru's social media channels.

The RepCore® Nations 2026 study, conducted by Reputation Lab, is an international benchmark for understanding how countries' reputations are perceived by audiences in the world's leading economies.

These perceptions have a direct impact on key decisions such as investment, tourism, trade relations and talent attraction, making them a strategic factor in a country's international positioning.

The G7 is a forum that brings together the world's seven most industrialized economies: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.
