Foreign Affairs Minister Allan Wagner reiterated Peru's commitment to the Pacific Alliance, in order to continue developing initiatives that generate development in the region.
In a message commemorating the 10th anniversary of the
Pacific Alliance, the diplomat highlighted that this mechanism has marked a momentous milestone in the regional integration process that began in Lima back in 2011.
"I wish to renew our commitment —together with Colombia, Chile, and Mexico— so that the Pacific Alliance can further develop innovative proposals and initiatives that contribute to the development and well-being of our peoples," he said.
The
Pacific Alliance is an economic and development initiative of four Latin American nations: Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.
It is a mechanism for political and economic coordination, as well as cooperation and integration, which seeks to form an area that boosts further growth and competitiveness of the economies it comprises.
Its member countries are confident that this is possible by progressively seeking free movement of goods, services, capital, and people.
The Pacific Alliance marks 10 years of its existence today, April 28.
