The Public Ministry announced that it has decided to initiate preliminary proceedings against the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte for the alleged commission of the crime of illicit enrichment and the failure to record a statement in documents in relation to media reports on the use of Rolex watches.

The announcement was made Monday in a post on social media, in which the Attorney General's Office stated that the investigation will be carried out by the Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints Section.

"Today (on Monday), the Attorney General's Office, through the Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints Section, decided to initiate preliminary proceedings against the President of the Republic Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zagarra, for the alleged commission of the crime of illicit enrichment and failure to record a statement in documents over the use of Rolex watches," it reported.

As is known, media outlets have recently reported on the use of Rolex watches by the President of the Republic, which might not have been registered when she took office.

In this regard, the dignitary has told the media that the article in question is the result of her effort and work.
